Michele describes the design and construction of these pants:
“I used all of my purple scraps to make the base of these super patchy pants, then added minimally patterned deep purple side strips to show off the wildflower appliques on the sides; on one leg common bluet, on the other, bloodroot (both early spring wildflowers in the Northeast and assurances of spring!). Finally, I added a side pocket made from more patchy pieces which secures shut with a bit of velcro to keep your goodies safe.
These have lots of special little details like decorative stitching on the pockets and bottom hems; flower beads on the pocket; vintage fabrics in the patchwork, a slight flare to the legs and, made from all scraps, so no waste! Extra care went onto all the seams to be sure you will get miles and miles of wear out of these pants as they are sure to become favorites!”
